OP dave1 Sidelock Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 43 alberta	I recently picked up a Westley Richards hammergun S.N. T 18XX Would this have originally been a damascus gun. It now has fluid steel barrels and has been nitro proofed for 1 1/4 oz loads. The barrels are serial numbered to the action. Any information would be appreciated. thanks Dave

You can pretty much guess it from that. http://www.westleyrichards.co.uk/GUNS/Gun-Histories_2/History-Authentication Letters don't work either. My C 6148 was made in 1882.

OP dave1 Sidelock Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 43 alberta	Westley Richards website comes up with 1929 as the date of manufacturing. This explains the steels barrels.Were hammer guns still be built this late or was this put together from old stock etc.
