Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone has had any dealings with this business? If so, what was your experience like with them? How accurate are the desciptions they provide on their guns?
Thanks so much!!!

I have bought three shotguns from them. They were just as advertised. I called ahead and their salesman answered my questions. I bought two Merkel sxs and a Husqvarna Cape Gun. Thinking about ordering from them again.
Hope this helps

I've had good success. I spoke with a gentleman there who said they are/have been sorting through a "container" load of doubles from Europe, thus all the sling swivels. They code their guns with a "C" in front of the stock # for consignment guns and I believe a "Z" for their stock. Accurate descriptions. The only negatives are that they will not provide any other pictures and on one of the beater ($225.00) Sarasqeta's I bought they had engraved/etched in tiny letters "Simpson Ltd" on the side of the receiver. The "etching" didn't bother me on this gun, I had purchased it to cut down for a "youth training" gun, but I sure wouldn't want it on a Merkel or similar.

I think the current inventory of Huskys and other inexpensive Euro doubles Cabela's recently acquired came to them by way of Simpson's. Importers are required to stamp their name, but they usually do it somewhere unobtrusive, like on the barrel flats.

My one experience was good. Fast shipping, excellent packing and the price was actually slightly less than shown on the website! I had the salesman make a number of checks before buying. He was very accomodating and all were confirmed as accurate once the gun was received. "Simpson Ltd" was vibration engraved on my gun but in very small letters on the trigger plate (i.e. NOT the guard). I only found it when stripping the gun. I would buy from them again. Phil

What ever you do, don't base your selection on their descriptions and maybe not on their pictures either. I went there first time I bought from them and looked at numerous hammer doubles and revolvers I had selected from their descriptions and pictures. Nearly all had some defect that made them unacceptable, sometimes major problems. I did find a really nice Husqvarna hammer double that I would not have picked based on pics and words. Of course, with bird guns, handling qualities are critical, something that cannot be done remotely.
What I have done a few times, as have many others, is call and ask someone there to take gun(s) of interest in hand and answer your questions. This has saved me from guns with bad problems but, has still left undetected more minor problems. The two kinds of guns they seem to know least about is hammer doubles and rolling block rifles.

I had real good luck with a Bayard 16ga hammer shotgun I bought a couple of years ago. It was better than advertised. Just ordered another gun from them today and will post about it in a few days. I have found the salesman's description to be honest and pretty accurate. Ask lots of questions to lessen the chance of a surprise.
