Hi all, I'm not into hammer guns, but this one caught my eye. What do you think about it? What's a fair price on one like this? http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=134641556I have to admit, I've always been interested in hammer guns, but don't have one, but willing to try one out. If I ever did, I'd like to get something nice, but not break the bank, any leads? Thanks and all the best! Greg

Greg,
Personally, I think $750 is on the high side. I recently picked up a model 51 Husky (top lever, back action, rebounding sidelock) for $300. Not in as good a shape as the one you found but quite sound. I have been impressed with the quality. You can also check the Allan's Armory and Simpson Ltd. websites for Husky offerings.
Good luck, Phil

If you want a cheaper Husky hammer gun there's a boat load of model 17s floating around in the $250 - $350 range.

gjw - that one looks very Sauer-esque. It would be interesting to see the proofs. Husky did retail some JP Sauers.

Nice gun but way overpriced. I got one in similar condition for about $300, also from Simpsons.
