Steve Duren (Ballard head guy) sent this receiver to me for scratching . As he wasn't quite sure what he wanted, other than not full coverage, I worked this out for him. Obviously there are no Pic's But I'm told Michael is going to post them for me --- Thanks Guy ! Hope y'all like the work & see what can be done with an old receiver in poor condition. Ken

NICE!!! Ken, Something like that is what I was thinking of for my highwall - if I don't go off my rocker and chase after cave art.
The rifle is being campaigned in Raton in three weeks, in the white.
Yup, I like that a lot. A whole lot.
Can you tell us anything more about the rifle/barrel/owner, etc.?
Sweet! Brent

Michael, Many thanks for posting the pictures. I see my wife didn't eliminate some of the extra ones.
Brent, This rifle is owned by Steve Durren of Ballard rifle co. It is something he had kicking around in the bottom of his locker. He decided since he had it for so many tears, he had better do something with it sooooo. The piece will be color cased, color removed from frame (greyed) with color remaining on lever & block. I have no idea of the cal or bbl maker. Give me a call if still interested & we'll talk about it. Glad you liked the scratching ........ Ken 910-221-5288

Nice job Ken. The Low Wall action can be a challenge because of the oddly shape sides, hard to find the middle.

Oh Yeah Mr. Steve , you've been there too. Glad you approve even tho I elected to stray from standard Eng. scroll. I have found that many of my clients want something they can easily see when it comes to Eng. They also seem fond of my having it a bit more complicated than the same boring look. To each his own ....

Incidentally, I added a bit more light scroll to the raised flats fore and aft as well as some on the front lower areas of the frame. It's now "really" done.

Beautiful job of engraving and fine metalsmithing. It's going to be a treasure when finished.
