Just finished these up. Twist barrels are such a pleasure to refinish. Never know what your going to end up with...

These are from a Baker gun.

Beautiful as always. That is a One Iron Crolle-Twist laminate also called London, Baker "Best London Damascus Twist", and "Barber's Pole." Very similar pattern barrels are found on LC Smith Maker Baker, H, E, & D grade Lefever, and Baker Gun & Forging guns.
And the middle pic shows an 'end on' ribband.

Thanks Drew.

"And the middle pic shows an 'end on' ribband"

There are 3-4 different spots like this on these barrels.

Same flaw in the pattern at the mid-portion of the left barrel flat on Ross Berck's B grade Baker

I have personally never seen this "London Twist" on any Lefever of a higher grade than an H. To the best of my knowledge they were never cataloged on any grade but the H, though a few DS's have turned up with them, ususally also accompanied by a doll's head & cocking indicators, which they "Ain't" supposed to have either.
Do you have personal knowledge of a D or E with these barrels?

Miller: In surveying the many gun auction sites I've seen guns represented as D & E with Damascus Twist. It's certainly possible they were mislabeled, and I know nothing about Lefevers.

I just received this pic of Two Iron Crolle-Twist, Laminette, Turc Mine' Blanc, Laminette Double, Doppelter Laminett, or Double Damascus Twist barrels on a Lefever refinished by Buck Hamlin. These are the first and only Laminette barrels I've seen on an American maker's gun. They are quite common, and frequently acid etched, on German/Austrian guns

Drew;
Interesting bbls those, laminette ones. Do you know the grade of the gun they were on.
As to those D & E grades "Represented as having Damascus Twist" unless you have seen them & can confirm otherwise, I would bet they are not the "London Twist" as found on H grades & pictured above, but on those grades most likely a Three-Iron Damascus of increasing quality on the D. Even the G grade wears two-iron Damascus.

I haven't yet received a response from the sender as to the grade of the Laminette barreled Lefever.
I guess I didn't word that correctly; the GRADE was represented as D. The PICTURE of the barrels showed them to be Damascus Twist. Didn't mean anything to me, so I failed to save the image-sorry but I will do so if another shows up in the future.
