Just as a follow up to some favorable and some not-so-favorable posts regarding Keith Kearcher's work: I was planning on having him do some re-joining of barrels to an action by tig welding a shim to the hook.
Anyone have any experience using him for this type of work, and, if so, how did it turn out?

Keith's welding repairs are excellent. He has done several for me on high grade guns. He is presently working on a D M Lefever 5B grade which has poorly repaired broken tangs. He will clean out the braze and heli-arc the tangs back together, then clean the welded area for the engraver.
He has rejoined several guns for me over the past ten or more years. Although it is not a welding repair, he has also relaid ribs on a couple of sets of barrels.

I've had him tighten a couple that way, although not recently. I think his TIG work receives very favorable evaluations, from those I've spoken with and what I've seen here.

I have used Keith for years and have always found his work to be very good. He has rebrowned six or seven sxs's for me, and done stock work on half of those. I have also had hime rust blue a drilling and a two or three sxs's. On those he has done for me, the browning was universally excellent. He finished two or three in black and white and they were good though not on par with his browning work. His stock work is first rate. I have not had him do any action work for me, but plan to sind him a Lindner when I get around to it. His most indearing quality is his turn around time. I have had guns sit with people for more than a year for relatively minor work. Keith has never had one of mine for more than a month. I recomend him.
