Hi all, I just received a gun I got off the net and upon inspection I found that the ejectors did not work. I thought I'd have to send her back (I posted about this earlier). Well, I called the seller today and he said that he wanted me to be happy and if I still wanted the gun (and I do) to go ahead and get the problem fixed and he'll pay for it. It was an offer to good to refuse. I'll get the gun and won't be out any $$$ for shipping and lost FFL fees. It's a very nice pre-war 16ga Greifelt in really good shape. I'll be taking it in today to get her fixed.

It was nice IMO that a seller wants a buyer to be happy and is willing to make things right.

So, have any of you had a similar experience as mine?

All the best!

Greg

I brought a Francott from Niles at Safari Outfitters a while ago. After 6-8 months, the top lever spring broke. I brought the gun back to Niles and asked him to send it out for repair. Also, a good cleaning, while its apart. When I picked up the gun, it was no charge. Even the cleaning. I've brought several guns from Niles since then. The gentleman, and his wife Kim, run a top shelf operation. I now, also rely on Niles for all my gunsmith work. He knows exactly who to send it to for the best repair, given the individual gun and ciecumstance.

I had a similar experiance with Cabelas years ago. I was so impressed that when I started my business I made it my policy if a customer is not happy I am not happy. Most transactions go without trouble but when you deal in things that are mostly 30 to 130 years old things happen. My policy is what ever will make you happy. Take it to someone you trust and send me the bill, send it to me and I will make it right, trade it on something at full credit or return it for a full refund. My thought is there are only so many customers in this business and it is easier to keep one than to find a new one. I have sold several hundred guns in the last few years had to fix a few and gave one refund.

Greg, I bought a wonderful used Garbi 2-bbl set 28 ga from CSA (Carolina Sporting Arms) a couple years ago. When I patterened it the firing pins were sticking in the primers making it hard to open. They offered me a full refund including shipping, or to fix it. I went with the latter; I sent it back, their gunsmith fixed it and they payed shipping both ways.
