Do any of the Gardone makers have gun rooms or shops open to the purchasing public?

I believe that both Bernardelli and Beretta do, but haven't been there for some time. Their websites will tell you, I'm sure.

ViniferaVizslas,

If you are headed to Gardone and have some time to spare on your trip, get in touch with me.

Pete

Before going on a Biz trip to Germany a couple years ago I contacted a rep from the Bernardelli facility and expressed my interest in a tour and he said that would be no problem just contact him with my itinerary. Unfortunately, I didn't hava as much play time as I thought and couldn't visit the facility. Next Biz trip...

There's so much more than Beretta and Bernadelli in the Gardone that I've driven past without looking three times in the last five years. Otherwise, I'd have been begging at the Canadian embassy for money to come home.

I use to travel to Italy every few years in the past.

The places that I have had experiences with are the following

Ferlib- Now differnet
Beretta
Perazzi
Bertuzzi-Closed?
Poli
Siacie
Renato Megnon-Not sure if he is still around
Bernardelli-When they were actually in business
P&V

The larger companies you can usually find someone who spoke English.

I did hire a guide for some of the other smaller shops and a case marker and an accessory maker

If you want to cover alot of territory fast, I would hire a guide that has an in with the gun makers.

Thank you to all.

Pete, I will. A friend wants to go to the area and order a gun along the way. I may as well depending on what I see. Something really nice if the market hits 10000.

The Beretta Museum is a great treat, but is not always open. It would be a good idea to write them in advance for an appointment. You should get a warm welcome at FAMARS if they're in (Marco and Christina). They travel a lot to all the shows, so, again, it helps to pre-announce yourselves. The euro is lower than it has been, so you should be able to get a good deal. If you can get to visit some of the engravers, e.g. Creative Arts or Il Bulino, you'll see some wonderful work. Enjoy the food and wine. There's a pretty hotel right off the main road on the river. I forget its name, but everyone there will know it. Just driving through the town is like the catalogue page from a fine gunmakers' book, you'll see all the names signposted. As John says, you won't find any unfriendliness, although you may not find Inglese spoken depending on who's in.
