I bought my Deluxe Target mag twelves at a household estate sale in Arlington, VA a few years ago. There was a cabinet full of guns including the prewar Model 12 Heavy Duck that the shells were for. The Model 12 apparently had never been used but somehow I passed it up because it did not have a solid rib or a 32" barrel. Big mistake. The owner collected Heiser leather which was mentioned in the newspaper ad for the sale. I bought only leather and ammunition at the sale and passed up all of the nice guns. There was a wonderful Heiser parade saddle mounted on a stand in the middle of the living room. The daughter and I couldn't come to terms on the saddle and she took it home with her to the Northern Neck of VA. The boxes of shells are full, untouched, and mint condition.

Did I get a shell from you, Bill? One of the few Peters shells in my accumulation is a 12-gauge 3-inch DeLuxe Target with an overshot wad that says MAGNUM 6.

No, Researcher, the Deluxe Targets I bought in Arlington were all full boxes. I'm not much of a box collector. Just about everything I have is full. Even my Rem-Arrow eights were full and near new until I got stupid and sold them.
