We are still busy with harvest but I took saturday morning to take two of my boys and a couple friends hunting. My oldest son Colton got 1 rooster, Austin hit a quail but it flew 200 yds and we couldnt find it, I got 2 roosters and missed 4 quail. One of the other guys got 1 rooster. Didnt see as many birds on my crp as usual but its still got standing corn all around. Pics are my sons(I didnt know the youngest snuck in there) and me and my lovely early Lefever E grade ejector with some beautiful birds. Austin was using his trap gun (Beretta 391 youth) Colton (showing his creative side?) was using a modern Charles Daly 20ga OU.

Very nice pictures. Good looking family and Lefever. Does it have an articulated front trigger? Looks like it in the picture. Thank you for sharing them with us.

Good to know that someone was hunting in Nebraska. I drove the length of the state on Saturday and saw not a single bird hunter. Not even one. Saw pheasants though.

New pup and I opened the Nebraska season as well, North of Benkleman. We saw only a few hunters, lots of birds, but very little corn has been taken off so most of the birds were in the standing corn.....It should get really good in a couple of weeks when we get the corn off. Kansas opens this Saturday, full house here at "Hunters". When I was feeding this morning saw Sandhill cranes going South, Mallards wont be far behind!!!

Wy to go Ross, and thanks for sharing your family and good fortunes in the field. When are you going to post some pix with some roosters taken with one of those SAC guns?

On my way up there to NE on Wednesday. Glad to see birds, and glad to see you left a few for the rest of us!
Now I'm really excited...
