I have an SKB 505 O/U that has some light surface rust in the chamber area that just won't poilsh out. I have tried both fine steel wool and maroon colored scotch-brite with my drill motor. This removed some of the rust but their are still some sign's of light rust. Any suggestions?

Well, there's the coarse grey and there are bronze chamber brushes. I'd get some Ballistol in there and trust that it's a barrier against condensation and oxygen and hence a retardant of oxidation. If you spun the medium stuff in there, you must have gotten any wad plastic at the beginning of the forcing cone. I'd think that would be good enuf. Lot of bad things happen under melted plastic.

Use a stiff bore brush or a chamber brush with a wrap of medium steel wool. Fine may be too fine. Spin it with a cleaning rod with the handle removed and the rod chucked into an electric drill motor. If it's just light surface rust as you said, it will surely be removed. Use 00 or even 0 wool.
