At that late date, my first thought was a .405 Winchester but that is too long. Next would be the 450/400 2 3/8 NE but its 400 grain bullet is heavier than the 355 proof bullet. So, what else comes to mind?
Wolfgang found that in 1902 that a law was passed in Switzerland(Graubünden) that was designed to omit military cartridge from hunting. The law put a minimum at 10,2mm so the 10,3X60R was developed as a stop-gap measure to fill the void.
