A friend of mine brought over a shotgun that he is told his great grandfather brought over from Germany. It appears to be a 16 gauge breach loading gun. It is a fixed breach with a top latch that opens to expose the loading gate. It does have an external hammer. My friend is curious about it's origin. I have close up pictures of the breach but have to admit I cannot figure out how to attach photos here.
Thank you for any help you can offer in identifying the gun.
