Hello,
I have a F.V. DREYSE SOMMERDA 12 GA. shotgun, NON NEEDLE FIRE, with swing out 30" barrels via an under lever.
The barrels are marked "NITRO PROOF".
The shotgun is stamped: D.R.P. 32352.
I'm unable to find any information about Dreyse Non Needle Fire Shotguns and would appreciate any suggestions.
I cannot upload my photos due to the http: requirement.
I would be willing to e-mail the photos for reference.
Thank you.

Pranz von Dreyse back action side swing double. Interesting it is for a Southpaw/lefty.

D.R.P. No. 32352(Germany) gave protection for Christian Spoher in Frankfurt A. Main for a Telephonmagnet in 1885. I wonder if it is an Austrian Patent?

Thank you.

Sorry about the delay of my response but my Internet has been down until today.

Do you have any idea as to where I could find additional information and what the value is?

Thanks again.

what you have is a Franz von Dreyse sidelock, Patent Nr. 61455 given on 30.5.1891 for five years but not renewed anymore. Franz v. Dreyse was dying in 1894 and the firm was taking ovr by his son Nikolaus von Dreyse until 1897 to 1901 when Dreyse became a part of Rheinmetall step by step.Yours is the Dreyse sidelock with the lowest serail number I have seen now. its óne of only four double guns till now so this model is rare. with SN 32352 I am sure it was made in 1891 /92.

please make a pic showing the action so i can see its realy a No. 12! Dreyse had a lot of special cartridges and the fact you get a No 12 cartridge into the chambe does not meaning it must be a 12 ga gun.

another sidelock with a drob barrel action like Teschner -collath
