Anybody here load for a 7mm/303 EPPS imp
I recently bought a nice custom built High Wall with really nice wood which I was told originally came into NZ from Canada from the guy he had bought it from.
The last owner a bit vague and said the last time he had loaded it was ten years ago with 52 grains 4831 and a 160 grain Norma bullet. He gave me the rest of the box of bullets along with 29 fired cases and eleven loaded rounds and it also came with RCBS loading dies.
I never use anybody else's loaded rounds and if ever there was a case for not doing so was illustrated when I pulled these bullets with an inerta puller and two of the cases fell apart at the neck area and the bullets were badly corroded and I had to dig the powder out with a fine screw driver.
The other nine cases were ok and the powder poured out alright except the bullets had corrosion at the base.
These bullets were a silver colour and matched the ones in the box he gave me.
Any advice or comments would be most welcome.
Long time since I posted a photo here and have forgotten how to.

Nero, A useful load should be close to 7x57 loads. With that action, you shouldn't have to be concerned about going past safe pressures if you start on the mild side.

I don't know if the Epps is an improved cartridge, but the regular 7mm/.303 has a water capacity of 53.8 grains, compared to the 7X57's 55.55. Not a great deal of difference.

Have weighed three fired cases with water and they came out at 60.8-62 and 61.6 which gives an average of 61.46 grains.
Used to have a 6mm/303 improved case High Wall and also a 22/303 just necked down in my younger days but sold both a few years ago now and my loading data went with the rifles and didn't bother to keep a copy as I didn't think I would ever get another wildcat, as too much trouble working up a load for them.
This rifle though was just too good to pass up.
Just hoping somebody out there had one in this calibre and make it easy for me.

Nero,
If it were mine, I would guide on 7x57AI data.
