My vote is brown but I don't think there is a wrong choice.
I think this is going to be a blast to shoot and hunt with. If it were mine, I would be looking to use it on a doe and a hog.
Have fun.

I have another English 12 bore and an H&H 28 bore coming over soon. Thinking about making the 28 bore into a 450/400 2 3/8" BPE.
The 28
the 12
Oooo, Now that's a fun gun I'd like to tramp around the woods with. Both the 12 and especially the 28 look really cute.
Can't say whether brown or blue, I think it's a win/win.
If I may be so bold as to ask, did you pick up these gems in Brit auctions or from Brit contacts?
Holt's sealed bid auction.
Wow, you must know how to bid right, it seems you pick up some genuine diamonds in the rough.
Many Thanks - Marc
Mike,
what a great idea. I am a bit jealous. I vote for brown as isn't that more british for that ear gun?
Have fun with it.
Jerry
You're going to cut that H&H 28?! Is there something wrong with the bore? I'd sure want to shoot it first, or is it another one of those "hole in the barrel so you can sell it legally" items?
Brown. Mike, did you send it back to England for the work? That H&H is darling...
OMR they are all, hole in the barrel won't pass proof someone has to save them, guns. Most have walls too thin with pits.
Sharps I had it done here. $250 for the sleeving and $80 for the rear base and complete front sight.
Wow!...look at what you have for not much money! That's great!! Good on you!!! I'm going to ask what probably everyone else is thinking....are there any more over there that are in need of saving?
sharps there are many 12 bores. The rest are harder to find. I got really lucky with that 28. I bought the other 12 just to resale once I get it over here. I think I paid 80 for the barrel blank also.
I might be interested in the 12 bore. Who sleeved your first one for you?
I'll have to see if I still have the name somewhere Marty. did a great job cheap and fast.
Mike, I would be interested in more photos, details and price.

Mark let me know what view you wish photos of and I'll get them this morning when I get home. $150 for the 12 the 28 is sold.
Mark the 12 was made by Bently of London. The H&H is sold already
Don't count me out yet. Lets talk.
Mike,
Does John Taylor Puyallup, Washington ring a bell?
yep I sent a PM out with his name. He did a great job, cheap and fast. Less than 2 weeks.
Mike , I sent you a Email, if you'd be good enough to read it

It's been awhile since I've messed with this but I loaded up some rounds today with different bullets. The best was this one weighing at 816 grs. Target was at 40 yds standing offhand. I could barely see the front sight. I'll have to do something about that. 4.25" spread. I've now named the rifle. "Mule" as it kicks like one.
