Below is a pic of Roger Sampson's latest efforts. The rifle is one that I built for my daughter. She even had Marvin Huey make a full length case for it....wish I had her $$$$$. I understand that Roger will have the action at the Engravers Guild show.

Jim,

That's a great piece of work by Mr Sampson. I guess you also had something to do with getting the metal ready for the artist's finishing touch. What a lovely project for your daughter.

I just found your webpage and spent 20 mins looking at some of your interesting information.

Thanks for the post.

cheers,
- stu

Really nice work! Sort of reminds me of some of McKenzie's work!
More pics please.

Here are 4 pictures of the rifle in its case. Notice the peculiar shape of the lever. The action is circa 1888, I looked closely at the lever for signs of purposeful bending by some former owner...none. Campbell shows no similar levers. At the risk of disturbing a Winchester variant, I decided to leave it as it was. Since these pictures were taken, Don Kline has checkered the rifle.

What cartridge is it chambered for? Outstanding work, and the french fitted case is just frosting!

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the rifle is chambered for 32-40 Winchester.

Jim,
A beautiful rifle and the engraving is superb. I am familiar with Roger's work and look forward to seeing this one in Reno.
