Does anyone have any experience with these guns? I have found a few for sale and thought that they might make a good base for a DR. They are made in Italy but a really don't know anything else about them. The prices seem to be reasonable whch makes them more appealing.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Tom

Is the Tri-Star the three barrel gun made a while back or is it something else?

Hey 8bore.
The gun is one of the imported boxlocks from about 3 years ago.
Nothing special, nice case, 2 triggers, non ejector.
Looks good from a distance but closer inspection seems to keep the price down.
Cabela's in PA had 3 or 4 in 20 and 12 all in the $400 range.
There was also an FEG but for more than I wanted to drop on a project I really don't need.
Did I say need?

BTW, did anyone from the group pick up that 8 bore double at the Vintagers?

Just curious.

The Vintagers is usually a good place to look for eights. Which one are you inquiring about? I found a high condition Alexander McComas 36" Jones lever eight two years ago at Millbrook. It's not quite as handy as some other eights, so I haven't shot this one yet.

There was an 8 from an NY dealer for a very nice price. It was a damascus boxlock and I passed on it. Believe me, I didn't want to.
Can't remember the maker but it was British.
