A month or two ago I inquired about how to regulate a pair of rifle barrels for the Valmet 412, if needed. Now I really think I will need to, so need the advice more than ever!
I just got the gun back from the 'smith who fitted the barrels to the action. While cleaning the barrels I found the front "spacer" (?) was/is loose and comes right off! How were these originally fixed to, one or the other of, the barrels? How does one reattached it? Then, of course, I still need the instructions for adjustment.
I am posting here and a couple of other places. I hope I am not in over my head!
thanks,
Lou
Lou;

Go to this website. http://www.marocchiarms.com/index.php?

The gun is still made as the Finnclassic 512. The method for barrel adjustment should be same as yours. Download an owners manual and away you go.

Hope this helps.

Peter,
Thank you so much. I had written the current USA distributor and had received no response. This is such a help.

If you wrote Tristar, they are no longer the distributor. If you wrote the current distributor (us), we did not receive your letter.

These guns are easily regulated, requiring one box of ammo typically. The vertical adjustment is under the forearm, the horizontal at the muzzles. The adjustments are quite intuitive. Forget about where the group is at first, just get all the bullets in the same group. To do this, you need to mark each hole noting which bbl it came from. Then you make your adjustments with a screwdriver, probably best to do vert and horiz separately, at least in the final stages. Once all the holes are in the same group, you adjust your scope.

These guns are uniformly very accurate due to the cut-rifled bbls. You can expect to achieve circa 1 moa both barrels (not each barrel) with the right ammo (and it also helps to get the triggers worked, they are quite heavy from the factory).

If muzzle adjustor is broken, of course, you will have to get that fixed first.
