Recently, I purchased this double rifle at auction in Canada; the link below gives a description of the same rifle when it was sold in 2012 by Holt's:

https://auctions.holtsauctioneers.com/asp/searchresults.asp?sale_no=A1062&st=D&pg=12 (see lot 926)

Somehow, the rifle made its way to Canada, and I have become the latest custodian.

It is engraved 'R T Pritchard' on locks and barrel, but the case label is marked 'R T Pritchett'. There is no maker's name inside the locks, but they are very much like the fine Brazier locks on a similar Alexander Henry rifle.

Does anyone know more about 'R T Pritchard', or 'R T Pritchett', and whether they were one and the same?

Mark;
I just sent to your email address a .pdf scan of page 194 of Nigel Brown's vol 1 "LONDON GUNMAKERS" which references the gunmakers of your beautiful double rifle.

If indeed is was made by Robert Taylor Pritchett he was a very famous artist as well as gunmaker of London. The family invented the Pritchett bullet as well.

There is a recent YouTube video by Paper Cartridges on Robert Taylor Pritchett and his bullet design.

Well worth watching.
