My uncle left me a sxs shotgun i can’t identify or find much on. I have attached a few photos. Between the barrels on top is written pranz wels and on top is also m. Pieper. Now on the underside of the barrel is a man on a horse stamp with Bayard underneath that. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry i still trying to figure out how to add photos [img:center]https://photos.app.goo.gl/HSkDCRonE8U89q248[/img] [img:center]https://photos.app.goo.gl/kozDyHHZC3RnqVqS9[/img]

It is a Belgian gun made by the formerly prominent maker Pieper. The model is the "Bayard". You can identify the Belgian guns by the proofmarks. It is not a poorly made gun by any means, but the value is not going to be particularly high. Maybe $500.

Welcome to forum here. We'd like to hear more about your collection...Geo

Go to Belgian Internet platform littlegun.be , you will find
therein details on Pieper.
Re pranz wels - pure guess: wels is a town in Austria,
pranz could have been the Austrian local retailer
..Cheers

3 open ends:
1. Wels is a town in the Austrian province of Upper Austria
(Ober-Österreich). Pranz is a name not uncommon there.
Contact the municipality , they should know from when to
when this retailer has been in operation.
2. Pieper: there is also a book on Pieper, if I remember well
a contributor to this forum with the pseudonym
"canvasback" has it.
3. One photo shows a hole between the short under-rib and
the forepart-hook !!
Before you pull the trigger on this vintage
gun let it check by a PROFI GUNSMITH.
Or if you dont care , sign at least a life-insurance
contract before you pull the trigger.
...
Cheers
Felix
