Does anyone out there have any 4 bore and 8 bore lead round balls for sale? I don't have time to get a mold and cast my own. I am mainly looking for 4 bore. I have a Belgian single barrel 4 bore I am dying to shoot. Also looking for a good shot load for the same gun. 9 drams 3 1/2 oz. shot? Thanks for your help.

You might try Bob Hayley in Texas. Depending on the bore diameter of your gun, he may have a mould there.

12boreman, it is as Mike stated, do you know the bore size? I am helping a friend who owns quite a few 4 bores and all of his seem to be around .930-.935. He does have a Scott that has larger bores and they seem to be about .950-.960 (haven't pinpointed it as of yet)
Back at this time of the 4 bore, every maker seemed to use what he thought was good.

My friend contacted the Birmingham Proof House and they said 1.050, but from my research that is for muzzle loading guns, not breech openers.

I can't help with 4 bore, but have some 8 bore conical bullets and a mold. Let me know if you are interested. Postage would be pretty high, even in"if it fits, it ships" USPS boxes.

I will get the exact bore size. The gun is a smooth bore and the wall thickness is huge. I will only shoot a reduced ball load. Probably 8 or 9 drams. I am hoping someone has some lead balls just lying around collecting dust! Thanks JDW!

October Country might carry some. They made 8 and 4 bore muzzleloaders for a time, they might still.

Did you get your bore size? I don't have a roundball mold but I have a 4 bore conical for ball guns.
