I'm looking for a rifle in this chambering from either JP Sauer or the Oberndorf factory. All leads appreciated.

I can't help you out with that one and I'm sure it will be great when you find it. I believe those were made for the African trade (or to avoid the ban on the 8x57 cartridge). My personal rifle with similar specifications is in 9.3x57 and is a 1940 Suhl rework of a small ring WWI carbine using its recontoured and rebored barrel with double set triggers and a spoon bolt handle added with a new checkered stock and sights and lightly engraved. Many of these were made for the Scandinavian trade where the 9.3 was the desired cartridge for moose. It is said that this trade was encouraged to raise currency for the items from Scandinavia needed for the war. It is quite accurate and amazingly shoots all weight bullets from 232 grains to 286 grains into the basically same holes. Good luck on your search.

I have a pretty good Oberndorf TypeB I would sell.

PM if you want details.
