did once sell a parker vh that came from the estate of one lowell thomas...it had a silver plated frame and a similar stock head reinforcing alteration...
have you seen others with similar alteration?
Most likely just to hide a crack repair in the head of the stock. Similar to checkered side panels on guns that did not have them originally.
yup, or there could be reinforcing hardware under the diamonds...
also have 20 ga fox with similar diamond shaped inserts at the stock head...

It's hiding a cross pin repair most likely, there are much better way to do a split head repair this isn't one of them

Must be trying to hide something, buyer beware...
if you were a buyer, which you are not, you would be asking for wall thicknesses in key areas, like in front of the chambers and perhaps seven or so inches down from the muzzles...
also, english an belgian made barrels are the most suspect for having unsafe barrel wall thicknesses...
have never measured an american made gun with unsafe wall thicknesses, except for those that have been reamed out after market...
