Hello All,

I'm planning on sending my drilling out to these guys for refurbishment. After going the action i've found a lot broken thats out of my ability to repair. The mainspring, for-end latch spring are both broken. The inside of the action has a lot of active rust that needs addressing.
Has anyone used this company before? They seem to know what they are doing from what i've seen on their social media

Dear Journeyman;

I advise you to send your drilling to J J Perodeau. I know this is not the response you sought, however it is prudent.

Kindest Regards;
Stephen Howell

Have you sent work to him before?

Andrew Macfarlane has a good reputation in the smithing world. As does JJ.

Have you considered sending your drilling to Mark Cromwell at NECG? German trained gunmaker….he certainly knows drillings, etc. Closer to you as well. Gunter Pfrommer is also on your side of the coast. A Ferlach trained gunmaker, drillings would be no problem.

Ah, Gunter sounds like the man. some of my co-workers trained in Ferlach i'll ask if they've heard of him

Mabey you should learn how to make springs and deal with the other problems if you have the old spring for a pattern not that difficult.

If you have access to trained gunsmith ask them to teach you

As silly as it may sound, i never even considered that. We work in different departments.

Mr. Pfrommer did a goos job on the drilling. Locks up solid, set trigger works again. He caught a crack in my action screw that i overlooked.
