OK since I did not get any replies I just went ahead and bought the books.

At first blush I am very excited.

The stock work for beginners is 365 pages and is very oriented to shotgun work. It has very detailed in words and pictures chapters on subjects like stocking sidelock doubles (the extra is it is an LC smith he is working on), Stocking box lock shotguns, making a double forearm from scratch, Installing adjustable combs, how to install but pads etc.

The checkering book is the same with some great ideas for cradles and such.

Maybe not Shotgun Technica but certainly worth my money.
