Members CSMC RBL Reserve polished to a high gloss and ready for blacking within the next couple of days.

Beautiful barrels with custom 'hand engraving' and engraved 4 line cut top rib, exuding pride of ownership.

The receiver engraving is really nice, full coverage with his dog engraved on the trigger plate. If I had a picture I would post it for you.

Best,

Personally I think all the major gun manufacturers could take a few lessons from PA24 Doug.
yes i agree, but it would have to much negative affect on the bottom line.
What solution do you use for the blueing and what grit paper do you use for your final polishing?
My compliments Doug on a level of work rarely encountered. Well done.

I polished these barrels out with 1500 W/D as a final finish. My blacking solution is proprietary.

Best Regards,
These are images of the barrels of my custom RBL. I found Doug via this BB thanks to many who responded to my request for a decent barrel blacker. And what a great job Doug did!
There is another thread showing the finished project.
Great doing business with such a fine gentleman as Doug. I'd recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking for quality work.
I have another project going out Monday.
Excellent work that, consistent throughout, I'm prepping some for browning right now and its so easy to miss bits here and there or not get into the corners around the loop for instance, your attention to detail is inspiring me!

Turnbull could benefit from more than a few lessons.

Here are some pictures of the receiver on his RBL that Mark sent over.............with the handsome engraving that was added. It was engraved by "B. Bennett"....Mark can give you details about Mr. Bennett.

Nice looking project Doug, and your contribution is a huge part of it.
Doug - beautiful work! Makes me think about refinishing my A10 barrels . . . .

I am curious about the engraving - did the RBL come in the white or was that done over the factory laser engraving?
I'm interested in possibly having a rib hand cut matted. Who did the matting on that rib?
The pictured RBL is my gun. It was originally a "Reserve" model, whatever that means. We had to anneal the action so that it could be re-engraved. The original laser engraving was carefully sanded off after annealing. The rib engraving type is called Florentine. The Bolino image of my Lab captured her perfectly.

The engraver is Mr. Bill Bennett. He can be reached at bbacktob@comcast.net.

He's a dear friend, master engraver and as fine a fellow to work with you can imagine. He lives in Placitas, New Mexico.

PM me if you want more information.
