I am loading 20 ga 3/4 oz loads with 13.5 Gr of Green Dot and 12 ga 3/4 oz loads with 15 gr of Tite Wad. It would seem I could substitute 15 gr of Tite Wad into the 20 ga load. You might asky why, well I have plenty of Tite Wad and almost out of Green Dot.

FWIW, Hodgdon does not list a single load for 20 gauge using Titewad powder. I would not presume that your substitution would be even close to safe.

Powder is cheaper than fingers and eyes!

The reason is that Titewad is too fast for 20 gauge.

The 20 does not have the expansion room a very quick powder needs.

I feel your pain, but Titewad is not a particularly low pressure powder even in the 12.

This is not to say that a 20ga load with Titewad can't be developed in a ballistics lab, just that it hasn't been and that's the only responsible way to approach it.

I always used International Clays. If I remember right, I used about what was similar on the label- 7/8 oz. Claybuster Wad, 14.2 gr charge in Gun Club hull. About a 1200 fps load. And whatever shot you want. It makes a nice skeet load.

Go to www.alliantpowder.com. I've seen Green Dot here and there, mostly 1# containers. But if you stick with it, you can make up some very good 3/4 oz loads and reduce pressures. The other components that you'd need are the Claybuster 1075-20 3/4 oz wads and Cheddite primers, both of which are readily available. Rem Gun Club or STS hulls. You'll be saving a grain of powder per load vs what you're dropping now. Especially if you're switching powder in the 20ga, where you have less margin for error than in the 12, you need to be cautious. The powder companies' guides are your friend. That 12.4 gr Green Dot load in a Rem hull with cheddite primer and 3/4 oz Claybuster wad is one that I've used a lot.

Over at shotgunworld's reloading site for shotshells (https://www.shotgunworld.com/threads/the-20-gauge-3-4-oz-thread-of-justice.421067/#replies) there is a sticky regarding the 3/4 oz. 20 ga. load. It's a gathering of info relating to 10 years of threads regarding the load. Gil
