Not a lot can be safely said about all of us here but this we can say: all of us had mothers. And…

“Behind all your stories is always your mother’s story, because hers is where yours begins.” (Mitch Albom).

Today I’m celebrating the mother of my children and the mothers of my grandchildren as well as remembering the mother who gave me life.

Way too small for a capricaillie I think. What do you see that says "Parker"

I'll agree about the Caper which are almost the size of a turkey. Maybe the sunken hinge pin on the gun? Lagopus.....

Your eyes must be better than mine. I still don't see it.

It's just an old blurry low resolution photo Brent. Maybe a Spruce Grouse?

Could be a spruce grouse or a blue/dusky grouse. Could even be a domestic chicken, but it certainly seems grouse-like.

I thought that mark you are pointing to was maybe a photo imperfection. Isn't it a little far forward to be a hinge pin? Certainly, the hinge pin is the key element of a Parker. Is the hammer shape consistent with a Parker too?

In WWII, 65 women were selected to start the USMCWR Officer Corps
My mother was one of those 65

Surprise postscript: Labor through the night and then the safe (if early) arrival of a new grandson just after sunrise. What a Mother’s Day!
