Good afternoon members. I have an older gun with some very nice figure on the stock. I was wondering what is a good way to clea any old and oil from it without affecting the actual patina and existing finish of the wood?
Thank you.

If you want to clean an old oil finish, use Formby's Deep Cleansing Build-up Remover or Kotton Klenser. Apply with a white washcloth until the cloth no longer picks up the gunk. Use a soft toothbrush to scrub out the checkering.
You might use Howard Feed-N-Wax or Goddard's Cabinet Maker's Wax after the cleaning.
Good luckā€¦

some say murphys oil soap does a good job,,,

cleaning may or may not reduce value...depends on the buyer...
