Best places to handle one in the flesh?
CZ,
I haven't seen any for sale in the US for at least a year. According to Dickson's, this new one
MacNaughton is for sale somewhere in he US. The pendulum safety is something to get use to using.

Jonathan really produces a nice video.
I would say he is very possibly the best private hire shoot videographer in the UK. And he’s a decent guy.
He’s in the neighborhood here somewhere.
I was planning on going to see Graham Mackinlay and over to David McKay Brown, but, if there were other places that might have some to handle, I would add them to my visit list. I know there were only 150 or so made,
I think Graham has a pair of some older ones.
I know it’s just taste, but I actually didn’t care for the lines of the 28 McNaughton.
I think the majority of those guns are fairly old.
Best,
Ted
If you are in Scotland, Dickson's has a new 28 bore you could look at in Perthshire.
Ken
The 28 bore he was shooting is listed at Dickson and Son for 68,500
About 10 years or so ago at the Louisville, KY show there was a MacNaughton 28 bore lever cocker on a table. It had been blued and was loose and I think it had 24" barrels. Price I think was $7500. Probably a bargain today.
There are a few short barreled subgage MacNaughton’s available in the UK.
24” barrels won’t work for me, but 26’s might.
I plan on looking at a number of guns whilst here.
I saw an AyA Churchill 25 today for short money.
I’ve found that most small bore RA Mac’s sported 24” bbls. A friends 16 bore RA Mac bar in wood (skeleton) that was restocked by Paul Hodgins sports beautiful 24” Damascus barrels. Stunning gun.
Maybe you should give Dan Morgan a call up in Vermont. He deals with Graham McKinley over in Scotland all the time. A few years ago he found me a beautiful Dickson
About four years ago Holts had a 16 skeleton. Was one of three made in 16 they said. Used but not abused condition. I bid on it until it hit 14,000 pounds. Final bid was 21,000 pounds I think plus the vig. It was a lovely thing. Estimate was 3,000 and bids before the auction had it to 8,000. If I could find and afford one I’d be a buyer in a heartbeat. Good luck on your quest.
I’ll be in Graham’s shop next week.
Thanks for the tip Mike.
Fly fishing for a couple days, then some wood pigeon shooting.
After that the real fun starts.
