Is Jeff’s Outfitters still in business? I’ve called a half dozen times over the past couple months, left messages and emailed several times. Zero response!
Has anyone recently contacted or done business with Jeff’s?
I think your question has already been answered. The gentleman i know who bought the case last week is a member here, although he's not here as much as I am.

Why should someone who operates this way deserve one's business? Not judging, just asking. JR

I suspect in order to keep his prices sharp, he has developed a particular business model that is primarily based on an easy to navigate on line buying system. Having someone available to talk on the phone or type emails adds cost. No way to get around that. My experience is that it’s painless to buy from him and he provides the best value for money new cases I’m aware of.
There are three fundamental business models to choose from. Product excellence and innovation. Service. Price. To be successful one needs only to do two of those well. Any two in any combination. Jeff’s has decided clearly to limit service to the bare minimum, while providing an excellent product and a sharp price. They aren’t Huey cases but they are very good at the price.

Four. Email him again and make him an offer he can’t refuse.
…and while I’ve found that you can order things from his web site, that has little to do with whether or not that item is in inventory and will ever be shipped to you. Communication to resolve such issues, from my experience, is frustrating at best. It may be his business model, but I’d have a tough time endorsing it as an efficient or good one.
I have purchased way too much from Jeff over the years, but not recently. He has always been helpful and responsive, and the products have always been great value. Since The Great Covid Scare, a lot of businesses have gone to a no-live-phone model. Don't know if that's what's happening with Jeff, but he has always run with minimal staff support.
I personally have bought many things from him for years. I have purchased numerous cases as well as all types of accessories. I used to call and talk directly with him but the last year or so I have just ordered off the web site. I have NEVER had any problems with quality of the items or the overall transaction.

Because none of us are privy to his net profit figures or the growth (or contraction) of his business, I'd suggest you haven't a damn clue whether it's a good or efficient business model. It may not be one you would chose, either to run or to buy from, but that's immaterial.
And John, given you "liked" spring's post, I'd suggest your "Not judging, just asking." was disingenuous at best.

I appreciate your kind thoughts, but from the perspective of a customer of Jeff's and the inefficiencies, lack of responses to inquiries, and the frustrations of wondering if ordered items will ever arrive, to include some that didn't, my view on whether he is running a good business may have some merit, further accentuated by the simple fact that in this thread some are even wondering if he's still in business. In your view, all of that may be inconsequential to evaluating a business model, but it's possible that to others, it may have some relevancy.
You are happy with all of your interactions with Jeff's and no doubt others are as well. Apparently others have not seen the same results. For the sake of his business, I hope the latter are in short supply.
Jeff has a Christmas special on his cheapest (but still nice) cases every year. I always try to buy one at that time of year for my better doubles. This is the same business as the old Cape Outfitters which he used to be the voice on the phone for. I bought my first old double, an Ithaca/Lefever "A" grade 20 as a result of talking with him...Geo
Read about all this posted about Jeff being “ un reachable” several weeks ago. Promptly called him about a couple of leather cartridge wallets. Have not dealt with him often but he remembered the name and we discussed the “old timers” I had dealt with in my younger days. They arrived three days later. Since the days of Bill Wise (all good) till now, this board no longer is about sharing info and wisdom, but more about correcting others, arguing with each other, and complaining about the service of others. Just turned 65, and still send Dave my annual contribution. But, like this country, it ain’t the same. God Bless us all.
Good to hear from you, Tyler. And glad your transaction with Jeff went well. Also, good to know his business is still viable. So many have gone under in the last 2 1/2 yrs. Good to know he's not one of them.
I hate to see threads like this but I am happy to see others successful in making a purchase...I live way up in Newfoundland and have never had a problem with contacting Jeff, granted it may take a couple days but communication is always good I had placed an order during the life of this thread sent an email , he replied the next day I placed the order it was here within two weeks
Humm- In-genius is it now? And I thought that might be a term to describe Madame Marie Curie- truly a genius, having a menage a trois in her labratory in Gay Paree!! But then, I have heard that "Oral sex" could me the pastor Oral Roberts, coming home from his Ministry, and knocking off a "Nooner" with Mrs. Roberts-- who knew?? RWTF

John- not a "day drinker' by a long-shot glass- but if I were, I'd like to try: J.T.S. brown, and Pappy Van Winkel's Family Reserve 23 Year Old. What's your Bourbon of choice?? RWTF

Nice try at deflecting from your weird sexual innuendo in your last post, but to your question, Wild Turkey 101. You might think through a post first before hitting "reply", Fox Runner. I know I've been glad I did numerous times... JR
Wieird? Like beauty, weirdness is in the eye of the beholder.. And if there is, indeed, a hint of innuendo therein, I would hope it was seasoned with a hint of moderation. RWTF
I ordered a book on Winchester model 12’s from Jeff’s. The Book was less than half the price I could find on line anywhere else on line. Ordered on Monday, shipped on Tuesday arrived yesterday. Well packaged and exactly what I ordered. I would say thats fine service and what I have always experienced with Jeffs.
