My day for looking at unusual guns. This is an interesting French gun. Probably one of the best safety systems I have seen on a gun. Not sure if the lever returns to its original position after cocking and if so then cocking indicators would have been nice. And perhaps one of the first to attach external chokes to barrels.

Not to pop your bubble, but, everything about that gun says “Belgium “ to me-action, name, proofmarks.

Looks like it was destined for export too......

The tube maker with the mark of Crown over JL was quite prolific.....
