Ted have you ever seen one like this?
Only pictures. I get that people like unusual stuff, but, for my own use, that would be too weird.
I like regular (HA!) Darne guns, as, they work well for me. Or, did, prior to my shooting eye issues, which, are ongoing.
Use it in good health.
Best,
Ted
Not mine. I have an antique firearms page on facebook and one of the members posted it there asking for info.
I think that same gun has made an appearance here, before today. I would think it might be faster than a muzzle loader, but, maybe not by much.
Best,
Ted
So who made this 'bolt-action Darne'?
I've found this but not sure that it's a match. Old ad and not very easy to see. Manufacturer is Brun-Latrige and it is model 1910.

Verney Carron built a single shot gun with a sliding breech, called a Stop-Vis, IIRC. The breech was released by squeezing two locks together, between thumb and finger, allowing it to unlock, and slide back.
Out of all the weird patents and copies, that one seemed most useful, and usable, to me.

Ted
Looks like some Dreyse needlefire guns I have seen...
