I recall a discussion a few months back concerning the scarcity of Parker 1/2 frame guns.
Morphy's have one in their upcoming auction.

Will never make the low estimate. It is within $500 of its real value now. It is a nice gun and a very handy weight for a 26" 12 gauge. The listed stock dimensions are not correct. The drop at heel is an inch more than listed, good shooting dimensions.

Just need two Parker guys that have to have a 1/2 frame!!

Perhaps this gun would be a good candidate for restocking and some engraving to make a fine custom shotgun

Although I owned one briefly, I know next to nothing about Parkers.

"Blued "Overload Proof" barrels with no markings on rib" - are those original barrels or aftermarket? I also can't make out what it says on the barrel flats but it looks like something other than Parker Bros. which is on the water table?

This gun would have been made by Remington and as such the markings could be different from the earlier Parkers.

The Parker Overload Proof, the weight in pounds and ounces, and lack of a rib marking are signs of original Parker barrels in the Remington era. The Miller trigger is not factory.

That is PARKER GUN WORKS OVERLOAD PROVED. Typically used in the Remington era. We start seeing it in the 236xxx - 237xxx range. The left barrel flat carries a Remington date code of DG, D = September, G = 1938, surrounded by three typical Remington inspector stamps. The right barrel flat has the typical Parker Bros. V in a circle steel mark and 3 7 weight stamp.

Yup, original gun.

Well, it made the low estimate. 1/2 frames bring strong prices for some reason. I was out long before the hammer price

Not a bad gun, apparently.

I am holding out for a GHE and hoping this price bubble bursts so I can afford one
Posted By: Little Creek Re: Parker VHE 12 Ga on 1/2 Frame - 11/20/20 04:42 AM
Well, what did the 1/2 frame sell for?
Posted By: Little Creek Re: Parker VHE 12 Ga on 1/2 Frame - 11/20/20 04:44 AM
The listing showed LOP 13-1/2" Was that accurate? I passed because of the LOP.

13 1/2" LOP for a rear position single trigger is normal for a gun in that era. What did it sell for ?
Thanks

Estimate was $3500 to $5000 and it went for $4612.50 with the vig.
