Maybe a typo- $700- maybe-- $7000-- "To dream the impossible dream" Reminds me of an early 12 Ithaca Flues also "fitted with a pg girdle""Yuuuch-- RWTF

the pad kills hit...

Looks like it may have given some previous owner(s) $7000 worth of memories of days afield.

You don't see many of these brass grip "special order" guns around.

I once owned a Camaro similarly specified...blue car with brown door. Also quite rare.

I'm well versed in rare American antiquities.

Should have used brass colored screws in the repair.
They’re too conspicuous.

You gotta love this in the description: " The grip looks to be repaired or either preferred "

Preferred by whom?

Looks fine to me.

It must be Fred Selous's lost Parker?
Posted By: battle Re: Parker Bros. - 01/17/20 03:46 AM
I guess he thinks the extra set of barrels makes all the difference.

I have seen these before. Very rare Parker option. The Bi Metalic grip. Sold for use in cold northern climates . 2 different alloys of metal are used. One side expands in the cold the other contracts. Adding cast the colder it gets and allows the gun to fit perfectly no matter how many layers of clothes you have on.

Now that truly is custom!

Metals- both non-ferrous and ferrous expand in heat, contract in cold-- I'd rather ride a brass toilet seat in an outhouse in Bismarck ND in mid-Feb than even pick up a Parker (or other fine shotgun) so "butchered"-- Barf time, lads!! RWTF

Seems odd that some are criticizing the gun, not the seller.
I see a nice old double that, with some work, could be restored, plus has two sets of barrels!
The real kicker (to me) is the p r i c e asked.
