Well, they sucked me back in for a paltry sum to try to save a bunch of photography from many years ago. It looked like everything was still there but upon trying to actually do some thing with it....no go. Not sure just why yet but... I'm not sure I really care. I'm not sure the brain damage is worth it.

How much does Photobucket cost these days? Is it the best image host? Are there any free ones out there?

I use Imgur. So far it's free.
Posted By: Lloyd3 Re: Photobucket test - 01/16/20 05:41 PM
I paid like $5 to get access to all my old stuff. Now I can't upload it.
Posted By: Geo. Newbern Re: Photobucket test - 01/16/20 05:54 PM
Tried another one to be sure:

Yep, worked just fine...Geo
Posted By: Lloyd3 Re: Photobucket test - 01/16/20 06:07 PM
I wonder what I'm doing wrong. I highlight the IMG section and then do the Control C cut and paste....and nothing.
Posted By: skeettx Re: Photobucket test - 01/16/20 06:12 PM
highlight and then
maybe a right click and copy
and then paste?

What skeettx said...Geo

I made the switch to jpgbox.com during Christmas week. Works great, and free. You don't have to actually upload the pic into a separate account where you choose one from, like you do with photobucket. You just choose the pic you want from your photos on file on your computer. The process is much faster for me, as I don't have to wait for all those ads like I did with PB.

If anybody would like to try it I will be glad to list the step by step process.

Stan,
You are absolutely correct. I switched to jpgbox two years ago per the suggestion from Ken61 and it has worked perfectly for me. It seems very intuitive to use and hard to beat.

Nah, nobody shoots doves with a .410 sxs needs a croker sack. A Crown Royal bag will hold most of them...Geo

No luck getting on jpgbox yet. Keeps saying I might have to wait up to 24 hours to use and never does even though I am registered. No way to contact them. Uploads photos OK though.

Hal,
Try using the "upload as a guest" button.

Hal

As per Skeettx

Under the photo on jpgbox there is a box for forums, Copy the entire address in the box and paste it DIRECTLY into your reply on double gun. Do not use the (ENTER an image icon) at all, just bypass that step.
The address should look like the following Minus the Parenthesis that I inserted at start and end of the URL address.

[(URL=https://www.jpgbox.com/page/58966_1024x768/][[(IMG]https://www.jpgbox.com/jpg/58966_1024x768.jpg[/IMG])

Hope this helps.
Good Luck

Will a Crown bag hold 15? I don't know, I don't drink the stuff.

I don't know how many doves will fit in a crown royal bag. I never tried it, and this season I never had 15 doves to try it with.

The season extension to was a bust for us, I don't think I've seen a dove since a shoot in December. I'm glad to see your sunflowers held a few to the end.

Maybe jOe will send you a crown royal bag. I'll take a drink, but it is usually something cheaper than crown royal...Geo

I don't need a Crown Royal bag, I don't think. I really don't think it will hold a limit. I'd say about 6-8, maybe.

My bet is it's a push pole.

SRH
Posted By: Hal Re: Photobucket test - 01/28/20 05:10 PM
Yes a push pole with duckbill on end. One nice thing about the Duckers is the pipe on each end that goes through the hull. One can use poles, oars, or anything else you wish to stick in the bottom to stabilize the boat in water so you can shoot standing up if you wish. Have two Duckers that I trailer as a clamshell. I have a set of hand-held picks that a sometimes use to zip across ice, but they don't work well in strong winds. Need to make a set that will fit in the oarlocks. Have one original aluminum Ducker oar, but don't use it.

Will try the suggestion on posting images directly to a post.

Interesting that you remove the wood from your forend metal. I know you don't really need it, but I wonder whether you lost the wood or are protecting it. I have a fox sterly that the wood came off of, and I just shot it without the forend wood for years. Fixed it now...Geo

Posted By: Hal Re: Photobucket test - 01/28/20 06:13 PM
Hey it worked. I was not copying the whole address, just the upper half.

Yes I have the forearm wood that needs no more soaking in alkali water covered with sandy mud and rubbing on the gunnels. And it bothers my shooting when vegetation gets stuck under the forearm.

Old Ben made an 80 yd retrieve to bring in the swan through clumps of water milfoil. Got underneath and grabbed the wing near the body, so about all I saw coming in was the bird!
Posted By: BrentD, Prof Re: Photobucket test - 01/28/20 07:10 PM
Congratulations to Old Ben. I would pay to see that kind of retrieve.
Posted By: craigd Re: Photobucket test - 01/28/20 07:54 PM
Nice picture Hal. That probably was not easy, Ben deserved a little praise. I suppose it could have been tougher if the swan was pecking at him.
