Author Donald Dallas has received The President’s Cup for 2018 from the Historical Breechloading Smallarms Association for his book Alexander Henry Rifle Maker.

As Henry’s great great grandson, I’m proud to have collaborated on it.

There is a huge difference !

I have to say that there were several rather grumpy British gunmakers who were a bit miffed about being left out! I understand that it was put together is a bit of a hurry to make it in time for Christmas.
And of course B&E had ceased to exist by the time it was back from the publisher!
However, as said above, many lovely pictures and a nice hat tip to those who got included.

Agree with Toby as Cogswell & Harrison failed to make it. The book is good for the photographs showing excellent examples but the text about each Maker only runs into one or two pages. Worth considering but not as intricately researched as his other works. Lagopus…..
