How many different types of ejectors are found on pre 1900 Lefevers? I am familiar with the ejectors in the frame. Did they ever make ejectors in the forend?

thanks

I am not sure how many types of forend ejectors actually made it to production, but Lefever had several patents on them. Their 1892 catalog lists forend ejectors on which the ejectors could be "Turned Off" by removing the forend & turning down a screw thus taking the spring tension from them.
The inframe ejectors did come out while the two-hook cokers were still being built which was prior to 1900 & superceded the forend ejector I believe.
Perhaps someone who has looked at a lot more of the early guns than I can give you a more definitive answer but in short Yes they did produce some forend ejectors.

Yes. There are forend ejector Lefevers out there and at least one transitional ejector system leading up to the in-frame system seen on most ejector Lefevers. The transitional system has rods in the frame which cock the ejector sear, which is then tripped to release power from the main spring to drive the transitional in-frame ejectors. Complicated, but this elaborate system works fine. The forend system is more quirky and problem prone. I have seen these three types of ejector system. Other Lefever collectors may have seen more.

Given Lefevers, there likely may have been some variation early on.

I've owned Syracuse Lefever guns with 3 different ejector systems. I have seen pictures of 2 more different ejector systems making a total of 5. But really here were only two types put into production. The in-frame that we all know of and the forend ejector that has rods sticking out of the forend a lot like a cocking rod gun. With that being said the forend ejector system is pretty rare.
As 2-piper said there were ejector cut off put on guns for a year or two. I have had 2 or 3 of these guns.
