One of my close friends picked up this SxS receiver in a bunch of stuff he bought. It has no barrels and no forend. Curious if anyone can identify it. He is considering looking for a set of barrels and a forend to put it back in service as part of his gunsmith training. Thanks in advance.

Thank you sir. I'll pass that on to my friend.
Any thoughts on what model it might be. I looked at Numerich. They don't have any barrels in stock but I see they list several models.

Maybe something like this??

Thank you. I just looked in Zabala. I didn't think to look in American Arms. I had forgotten they were associated. Thanks again.

Look above again smile
More on Kassnar

Remember the gun has no hammers, springs, etc
Thanks guys. My friend is semi retired and doing the AGI gunsmith course. He's pretty talented on revolvers and bolt guns but hasn't tackled the SxS world yet. He thought this might be a good opportunity to work on one without a lot of investment. He is aware there are many different types of SxS's out there but this would be a good starting point and confidence builder.

I don't see any way for this project to be a confidence builder. Hammers, springs, etc can be made pretty easily but things like barrels could take forever to find a set that could be made to work. Find a complete gun in mostly working order and perform repairs / refinish.

This one is a paperweight.

He's a pretty sharp guy. He'll take his time and if he doesn't find the right set of barrels he'll scrap it. But if he can find a set that will work he'll do it for the experience.

Here's a Spanish project gun that's priced right. These guys have several others, not only Spanish, as well. I've bought from them, they're good guys to deal with.
