It looks like a nice gun, those Blanch guns are growing on me.
It does appear that when the butt stock was refinished it was re-checkered with standard "pointy" diamonds and they left the forend as found- dark, with flat diamond checkering. I understand why sellers do this, I just don't like it.
It looks to me like a very good example and a lot of gun for the money. Of course I'm bias having one in 16 bore. If I needed more
LOP I would probably lose the buttplate and replace with a leather pad and maybe a little darker and more red in the stock finish.
What a sweet gun it would be. BTW the diamonds on the grip are recut but look flat to me? Not hard to match up the forend. Nice
