I was at Collector's Firearms today with another Parker appreciator and they had a very high condition BHE 12 in the case. It checks out in the serialization book as what it still is today - 12/30, straight grip Acme barreled.

The gun is very nice - crisp engraving, very nice wood-metal fits, and only slightly worn checkering. Lots of case color.

Negatives - the SSBP and trigger guard have probably been re-blued at some point and are too black. There is some loss of finish on both sides of the barrels at the chamber end and at the muzzle, obviously from being stored in a case for a long time.

The only reason it didn't come home with me is the price... $23,500 makes it about twice what I would pay. But, an outstanding gun nonetheless. It just gave off lots of good karma.

They had it sitting between a Merkel and some Italian made shotgun. It was kinda like Jennifer Aniston sitting between Oprah Winfrey and Rosie O'Donnel.

If you buy it you owe me $10!

3" of drop? Nine pounds or so? We need to hear if it ALL checks out, according to the book.
Adjusted you beer goggles to "fat", it would seem. Good lad. They need loving, if not actual shooting, too.

Best,
Ted

I guess I could at least come up with $23K if I had to. Jennifer, on the other hand, is probably never gonna happen. And if Rosie happened, I'd need the shotgun shortly thereafter.

GregSY, 113756 is a lovely BH too. 32" Extra Fine Damascus, flat rib, pistol grip, ivory beads. A really beautiful Parker for only $8,500... I don't know why I didn't buy it... I guess because it is a dedicated trap or live bird gun and I would have little use for it except to occupy a void in my collection.

So where is #113756 if you did not buy it?

Roger Bain, Inc.

Oops, now that I look at it again it has 30" barrels, not the 32" I posted previously.

That is a nice gun...the one at Collector's, while not as good a deal, has three things going for it. Acme steel barrels. Better overall condition. Better engraving.

The engraving on the Collector's gun is just 'very very nice'. It is more profuse than the one at Bain's - approaching A grade IMO. It is also a little deeper than usual, yet lots of tight scrolls. And the case colors are just 'right'.

It looks like gun that was used carefully and occasionally for 10-15 years then put away for a long time.

Thanks. It looks even better in person.

I'm a sucker for straight grips and skeleton buttplates. If the BH at Collector's had those Extra Fine Damascus barrels (and a more reasonable price) I could persuade myself into buying it...

Check Puglisis.

BH - straight grip, damascus bbls, skeleton butt plate.

Bet you could get the price down, too.

There's no doubt the CF gun is too high on price. But there's also no comparison to Puglisi's BH. The CF gun is many times nicer than Puglisi's. Ifthe BH at Pug's is a 6.5 out of ten, the CF gun is 9.5 out of ten and we all know how much stronger a 9.5 is when it comes to Parkers.
