A friend has come across an 1894 AE 12ga., two barrel set, with lovely chain damascus. The serial number is 10010X, can you tell me what year it was made in?

Blue Book list has year as 1894 or range of 100,000 to 100,600 for 1894. Seems like first yr of production

Did they use 1-100,000 for the earlier models?

If they did, an I doubt all numbers were used, it would have been used for all their Hammer Models.
They just started Model 1894s at 100000 and Model 1900s at 300000 to have a clean start for the serial # blocks.
