Anyone still making/selling the "old" short wool cleaning mop as supplied years ago by Hoppes?

I would be interested in finding this out, too. There was nothing quite as good at holding cleaning patches.

I'd suspect Brownell's probably has a version of everything currently on the market. I use the mops only to push the final patches through, so they don't really have to cling to anything. My quarterly(maybe) cleaning is done with a bronze bristled cleaning brush, wrapped with 0000 steel wool, spun by an electric drill motor. Once up and out, and the barrel is ready to be wiped and oiled. Remove the handle from the cleaning rod first, it's easier to chuck it into the drill that way. Worked fine, for many years, for me. My favorite cleaner is Shooter's Choice Shotgun and Choke Tube Cleaner, although WD-40 or most anything will work. The spinning brush does the real work.
