Hi all has anyone used the little Skeeter gauge adaptors? I'm thinking of getting a set of 20g to 410 just for some fun just looking for any feedback

I used the Little Skeeters once. I shot two shots from station 1 on the skeet field. A 20 gauge to 16 gauge set. The 20 gauge hulls stuck in the little Skeeters and wouldn't come out, they are in there still, despite everything I could think of to remove them.

I have them for my 12ga to reduce it to a 20ga. I have used them in all weather conditions and have had no problems. They have always extracted easily. I think they are fun to have.

I have a set of 20 to 28, one works perfect and the other locks the shell in it

People do have some problems with them as you can see. The one problem a friend of mine had was this: He tried to use the .410s in his twelve gauge O/U. But the smaller shells did not give enough recoil to cock the second barrel. This can cause a problem, especially at a club like mine that uses tokens to shoot a round, and you are only given 27/2 extra targets to shoot at. And it is even more embarrassing to flinch every other shot. But, the other guys shooting with you usually enjoy watching, until they realize that you are shooting their extra birds, after it happens several times. smile

I have 2 sets, 10-12 and 12-28. With low power loads, I have no Problem at all. I use a dowel to push the empty out. My 10 "E" Lefever makes a fearsome trap gun using them. Once I shot a 3' ultrasuperwhoopydoo load of # 4 buck in a 3 1/2 Double I had. I got a grant from the Ford Foundation to fund its removal. They are great, used sensibly..

S-kid,

Forget little skeeters. I bought a passel to use a 10 gauge with 12 gauge shells at sporting clays. All the problems you've seen noted above.

Found gaugemate gold. These reducers stay in your chamber (if you don't overlube them!). Get the gold not the silver. They are available for 20-410 reduction. Here's the website: http://www.gaugemate.com

The Silver gaugemates are great, I use them in my 10/12 and they are fast and efficient.

Do they work in 2 1/2" chambered guns? My 12-28 Lil Skeeters won't, gun does not close. I was thinking of turning the business end on my lathe to fit, but the shell might protrude. Anybody try to turn down Skeeters or Gauge Mates for 2 1/2: chambers?
I have Seminole 12-20 Chamber mates I use in 2 3/4" guns, I like those as they have extractors, just like short Briley sub-ga tubes. I have a Laurona o/u for the juniors and a pile of Wally-world 20 ga shells to use up, so we will use the Chamber-mates this summer.
One point, there are different thicknesses of O rings available, I could not get the Chambermates into the chambers, I called Seminole and they sent me a bunch of the thinner 0 rings at no charge, and they worked fine
