Joe is an asset to this site. He puts a little spice in our lives and does no damage. I for one rarely miss reading his posts. He can be a little nasty on occasion but usually funny and he has been known to be helpful also.

He didn't like a certain item that was for sale so he tried to bury it.

i was going to list wonderful polytech 7,62x39 with 30rd clip and big drum mag just to tee him off. this is quality weapon on par with ole' yugo m-76 they imported years ago.

Hey Joe- besides being the resident P.I.T.A. guy here, did Dave also make you his collection agency. Had to sound heavy-handed, but exactly why is it your concern if someone other that yourself sells, or for that matter, buys an item on Dave's website? Well, jOe certainly is busy...His method may not be popular, but his logic is sound. He is no more out of line than the people who keep lisitng things on the board that the guidelines prohibit. It is what it is.....And it appears to me that the folks who complain the loudest are the same people that violate the spirit of the forum.....Just my opinion (not humble)

Dave once conducted a poll of sorts about whether we wanted the reply feature on the 'For Sale' forum, so I presume it is something that can be done away with. I for one have never liked it. I believe we've now proven to one another that the public reply feature there is a negative.

I hope Dave will take notice of this foolishnes and change the format of the 'For Sale' section of this site. Respectfully...Geo

Jim-after all is said and done and dust has settled, I agree with you- Freedom of speech (NOT yelling FIRE in a crowded public venue when there are no flames evident being the exception here) is as important IMO as the Freedom of the People (US'ns) to own and bear arms freely) and some famous now dead Frog Statesman once said: "I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend to my death your right to say it"!! I think of HoJo as the "What, Me Worry" lop-eared kid on the cover of MAD Magazine- I'll bet you more folks read and post here due to several reasons: (One- Dave Weber- a firm believer in the Freedom of Speech issue- and (Two-everyone needs a good laugh to get through a world of Bernie Madoff, Chrysler closings and never ending Sturm und Drang in the troubled Mid-East, and HoJo provides that at times- his "personal" attacks on Market Hunter and Lowell Glenthorne are "over the top" IMO, and I agree with the poster who said something akin to "It's easy to insult someone you'll never meet from 1000 clicks away on the Al Gore-Network- sort of a Ted Kazinski long range approach- IMO"- thanks for your balanced outlook on this, very well said!!

I've been busy with real-life not the virtual stuff since Thursday and I only have a few minutes to scribble this down before I’m out the door again…

I had to pick up the head munchkin from college on Thursday (7 hours of drive time!)…back just in time to see my sons Lacrosse game that eve (I was tired!). Saturday was at a 50th wedding anniversary for my aunt an uncle who are pretty cool people (3 hour drive time) ....I had to escort my mom and my aunt who are both widows, not in great shape and just a tad nutty (yet loveable). They were happy for my uncle who happens to be my mother’s twin brother but you could tell they were a bit sad too.

Today; I get to be the fill in coach for my daughter’s basketball league. While my wife is taking my son to visit a friend’s dad in the hospital then she has to take the oldest to get some new duds for the great summer job she landed. My other boy is being dropped off to play in the marching band competition/parade in Henrietta which we are forced to miss….I was supposed to be the grill master until the B-ball thing came up.

Needles to say with all this going on I really can’t elevate the HJ thing to any priority level. Let’s face it he’s pretty set in his ways and nothing I could possibly do will change that. I also believe he should be able to express him self freely on the BBS as you all have the option of NOT reading his posts. If he crosses MY line I will reprimand him and then if he does it again I’ll shut him off for a week like before.

The funny part is that often I do find him both annoying and entertaining concurrently. I also allow him the latitude I would give any of you so if nothing else you should be happy to speak your mind on the BBS....

Hope to chime in again late this eve…till then……RELAX!

I'm not quite sure what HoJo has said to stir up such a discussion ,as I long ago blocked all his post/comments . That being said, why not do as I did & avoid his juvenile blather by blocking his post. There is an obnoxious teenager in our social group --- we dealt with him by ignoring him & his comments. Eventially, getting no reaction, he seemed to just disappear. Since regarding HoJo as such an ill mannered child, I am no longer privy to anything he says due to his being blocked. qhat a relief.

Dave, watch out! Filling in for the coach can be dangerous. I filled in for my son's 7th grade football coach when he went on his honeymoon. Next thing I new, I was THE coach. And then I coach for 6 more years and up to the Friday night game. So be carefull.

Having been blocked from another (un-named) website by latter-day Puritans who dwell excessively in political correctness, I find this site a breath of fresh air, so long as the mindless and meaningless jabs don't get personal. This particular thread, however, is a good example of the trite quibbles that can engage one's interest to the exclusion of greater and more important matters in re: double guns.

As to the other website, the constant "disappearing" of threads was often a topic that, itself, also disappeared after a chiding by the master of political correctness and "speak-no-evil" who, himself, disappeared from the BOD, thus proving his "hall monitor" efforts to be thankless.

Yet I see this hall-monitoring type of censorship rear its ugly head here sometimes and, thankfully, Dave Weber has a policy of letting things run their course. Rest assured that this thread would have long since disappeared on certain other websites. In HAM radio terms, these masters of political correctness are called "Deputy Dogs" who troll the frequencies breaking in with their comments, much to the distraction and dislike of the real players.

One way to monitor the one-liners would be to require that all posts be at least two paragraphs, in complete sentences, and correctly punctuated. But why bother? You can personally, and quite simply block the non-contributors without having Dave take up one side or the other, thus giving importance to an otherwise trite issue.

Some mindless non-contributors have no original thoughts and only respond to the posts of others, be it one-line zingers or questions as to the "rules" of "allowable" expression of free speech in the micro-cyberspace occupied by this very site, as if it's zero-sum, and one man's worthless opinion somehow cuts into another man's profound insight into the meaning of life in-so-far as double guns are concerned.
