I have a Stephen Grant 12ga SLE with so many proofs that I can't determine how many times it has been proof tested. I see 3-1/4 tons, 732 and .736 bore dimensions and then sleeved and 850 BAR and 2-3/4" and 70mm. In its current sleeved state the barrels are .722 all over and .700 chokes. How many proofs has it been subjected to? Here are photos: https://imgur.com/gallery/qvSXPwW

Drew;

I call your attention to the Crown over V and the 12 over C inside of the diamond both of the 1925-1954 and earlier era.

Ken
There was a joke in the British gun trade that the proof houses worked a two rule system .
Rule one , The Proof House can not be wrong .
Rule two , If it is proved beyond shadow of a doubt that the proof House had made an error , see rule one .
Joking aside there were guns incorrectly marked . I have had sleeved guns not marked and reproofs marked as sleeved . Wrong sizes and chamber lengths have also been known .There was a short period in the 80's when London did not marked " sleeved" just using a re-proof marks along with the current stamps .

Man Ken, now is the time to sell that gun before the bottom falls out of the market on guns that are mis-marked. As an act of generosity, I'll give you a full third of what you paid for it smile Nice gun, you must really know where to find some interesting stuff wink
