Neighbor asked me who I knew to send a gun to for case coloring. He wanted bone case colors. Turnbull and Wyoming Armory came to mind but I have not thought about recoloring a gun in a decade. Anyone else I should tell him about? I think he has a family gun that he is going to dump unwarranted money into. Been there and done that. But if it makes him happy I’m good with it. Turnbull did nice Smith colors at one time but I don’t know if the is a Smith.

It's been years but I had Ahlman's in Minnesota do several doubles and their work was really nice as to finish and no warping. Colors were great and I even found a few small little pieces of charcoal still stuck in nooks and crannies that had adhered through the cleanup. I found the company 35 years ago because I phoned the old Herter's catalog number for their stock department. They answered "Ahlman's". Turns out they did all the stockwork and gunsmithing advertised by Herter's which was not far away.

I had several Ruger No. 1's and Falling Block Works highwalls done by Case Color of Ohio and they did excellent work. All new guns that I stripped and disassembled.
