In the box with the Griffin & Howe engraved mounts were several Lyman 48S "Long Slides" and Lyman 35 sights... I had already spent the afternoon piling up goodies into two other crates... and yes, those G&H boxes are full (with steel mounts), scope holsters by G&H, Heiser & A&F, Lyman Alaskans, Zeiss, Hensoltd & Wetzler scopes & more stuff for the upcoming CGCA in Greeley & Winchester Cody shows...

All the parts will be offered for sale. I have great appreciation for those who can turn wood & steel into works of art. I've become a follower of the custom 1903 sporting rifle makers... Griffin & Howe, Sedgley, Hoffman & others. I've had a few go thru my hands... this all began for me about 10 years ago while helping sell an estate of guns that had several of the aforementioned rifles... I even sold a few at the show in Kansas City. What I kept from the estate was the librray... several hundred books including Vol. 1 & 2 of Micheal Petrov's tribute to custom rifle makers. I've been on the hunt locally for a Meunier custom 1903 rifle that was offered to me at a local gun show (a twin to Petrov's rifle) but the seller wouldn't go thru with the transaction after I agreed to his price). I find the transformation of the 1903 very elegant and appreciate what those gentlemen could do.

This forum does permit pricing of guns, services, or items for sale. This is typically done in the For Sale section, but sometimes things are advertised or sold in the other sub-forums.

With only 32 posts here, it is understandable that you may not be familiar with the rules for selling here.

The rule or expectation is that if you sell something that is advertised here, you then pay the site Administrator Dave Weber a $12.00 fee. The details for selling and subsequently paying Dave after a successful sale are in the header at the top of the Doubleguns For Sale sub-forum.

Honorable people are happy to do this, but some people have found they are able to skirt the rules by advertising their businesses, goods, and services in their tag-line. Some openly brag about the number of sales they make without paying Dave, while others quietly work to silence, censor, or ban anyone who mentions their sneaky cheapskate behavior. Personally, I'd think that anyone that cheap is simply sneaky, dishonest, and interested in a free ride, and they would probably be just as greedy when they deal with their customers.
