KY Jon	Was this barrel threaded for a suppressor at some point you think? Remington Model 12, .22. Nothing else on this gun out of ordinary. Just this.

AGS	I would simply cut it off and recrown the barrel. Hardly noticeable and a more acceptable modification. It may be a thread protector, but my first impression was that someone intended to install front sight band.
